I have installed 3 Apples for your Enjoyment:
Electricity for Progress presents, Apple Distortion - an introduction to feedback and operational amplifiers. In this experiment, users are presented with three apples, touching these apples in various ways and combinations produces audible feedback. The feedback is produced using an old lm709 operational amplifier integrated circuit and an assortment of capacitors (including the human inter-actor). Handling and Grip affect tonal qualities to the sound produced. This device is meant to graph, in an audibly sensible way, the electrical properties and processes occurring inside the operational amplifier in self oscillation.

Electricity for Progress - Saturday May 22nd 2010 at Trenton Avenue Arts Festival
Electricity for Progress will be vending and demonstrating a variety of custom modifications to electronic musical instruments and children’s toys. Come interact with wild sounding instruments and hear the secret sounds hidden in everyday objects! I will be sharing a space with my mother’s art project Holly Mania! Please come stop by the booth and say hello.

UPDATE:
Thanks to everyone who came out to the arts fest! We had an amazing day and met so many really great people. Having the public play with these devices really makes me happy, so many really great kids took a strong interest. Learn about electricity, it is fun (and ridiculously important)!
If you are dreaming about a device that you saw at the Fest, or have been cleaning off some old devices, please send us an email! I would love to have you come to the workshop, open up some devices and make amazing machines. Enhancing outdated devices can breath new life and usefulness into otherwise disposable machines. Knowing how your tools function can greatly enhance your ability to use them!-Cheers!

Electricity for Progress will be hosting an all day musical experiential event at Philadelphia's Magic Gardens on Saturday April 24th, 2010 from Noon - 8p. Experience the beautiful Magic Gardens in a way you’ve never heard before! A variety of modified electronic toys and machines will be placed throughout the Gardens. Guests are encouraged to interact with many of the installations. The dynamic shape of the Gardens will host multiple sonic landscapes in which I hope people can create, and experiment, and learn. The Magic Gardens are a wonderland to explore, I am excited to provide an audible experience to compliment the adventurous and stimulating atmosphere.

Philadelphia's Magic Gardens is located at 1020 South Street, Philadelphia PA 19147, the Magic Gardens offers guided tours of the grounds as well walking tours of mural sculptural art in the area, there is a $4 adult admission to the Gardens and kids are $2 or free.

Understanding how machines work can make it easier for everyone to manage a prolificacy of devices and interfaces. I want to teach people about systems, I want to introduce methods of breaking systems down and organizing parts. Understanding the scope of a system can help show where we are at, and help us learn where we are going.
Electricity for Progress is an educational interactive experience. Translating electrical pulses into physically sensible sounds, the properties of circuit components can be described and understood.
